Wanna read my journal?

Well, here's your chance!

Every now and then, I like to take a trip down memory lane and reread old journal entries. This particular one caught my eye recently… it is from a stay in Austin for one of my teacher training workshops back in 2018.

Visit my blog to learn how 4 1/2 years ago, I turned a not so good moment into a self-teaching opportunity. In the seasonal spirit, one might even say it was a practice of “trick or treat”. [TRIGGER WARNING: I cuss once and talk about vomit in this entry. Also, it is a journal entry, to myself…so, it may not make the most sense. Read it anyway, if you dare…]

On another note...

This week is the last Wednesday of the month, which means I will be at the "happy hour hang out" after the garden yoga class. Can you come and have some wine with me?

Plan to enjoy an all-levels class on the beautiful Spring Creek lawn from 5:30 to 6:25 pm, followed by a tasty beverage on the relaxing patio. They have newly installed beer taps, as well, so come and try them out!

Yes, this means there will be no 7pm class this Wednesday on 10/26. I hope you will head over to the garden center instead for some happy hour fun. Let me know you're coming by clicking the button below:

Another chance to hang out with me

Is this Friday, 10/28, at The Headless Headstand workshop!! Come on down and embrace your inner bat as we move through a seasonal practice from 12 to 1:30pm.

In this neck-free inversion workshop, we will play with ALL the props...including the wall! And there are only 2 spots left... so, click the flyer below to sign up now!

Seasonal fun doesn't stop there...

Don't forget about our Halloween costume contest at the noon class on Monday, 10/31! I am putting together a faBOOlous prize for the winner...so you should plan to PARTYcipate.

Even if you don't come in costume, make sure to bring your discerning eye so you can help judge the brave souls who present their creativity in the pre-class parade.

To my costumers: feel free to be in character the whole class! But you are also welcome to shed your garb so you can move with more ease...it is totally up to you.

Though you should know, your commitment to character may influence the voters, since our vote will be right before final relaxation. The winner will be announced at the very end of class and treated to the grand prize.

Of course, there is a trick to this announcement: there will be no class at 7pm on Monday 10/31. I hope you have yourself a spooky evening. Maybe you carve a creative pumpkin, like this one:

Anyway, don't be a lazy bones this last week of October. I look forward to seeing you in class sometime soon!

With love,

Monica

I've been pondering... This picture is from our studio pond after class this past Saturday. It had me thinking... Even though the same growing conditions seem to be present(same water to grow in, same exposure to light, same fish mingling around the stems beneath the surface), each lily has its own timeline to bloom. Our human experience is no different. From the way we move our bodies, to what we enjoy about a book, to simply living daily life...this one-size-fits-all looks different for...

I've been reflecting... Every so often, I take a walk through the garden of my mind to check on the plants I've been growing. I enjoy revisiting my old journals, newsletters, and notepads to refresh my memory on the ideas I was trying to cultivate. Today, I read a newsletter from last April where I announced plans for upcoming retreats. Just for fun, stroll down memory lane with me... I copied and pasted the content below: "I have officially planted the seed for 2 big ideas: First, a 3-4 day...
